Hey there, nice to meet you.
I'm a born and bred country girl, based in the small Wheatbelt town of Beverley. Life is never dull, as my husband and I navigate the crazy world of being parents, to our 2 little ones, while each running our two businesses.
I have been a creative soul from a very young age. Mum allowed me to share her love of sewing and craft, while dad introduced me to photography - a love that has always stayed and makes me happy.
I’ll never forget the time dad let me take ‘his’ camera on a school camp. I had no idea how to use it but I felt pretty chuffed to have it. My love for photography grew over the years until Hollie Smith Photography was born, all thanks to the love and support of my husband.
I’m a typical Taurus. I don’t drink coffee. I love sitting around a fire just chilling. I love that my kids are so full of life. I’m 1 of 5 kids. I love travelling the globe. I had an amazing childhood doing the biggest range of sports you can think of……..where on earth did my parents found the time…..I will never know! I grew up on a farm. Experienced boarding school. Love family history. Blue is my favourite colour of all time. I’m a qualified Educational Assistant, Beauty Therapist and spent 8 years in Local Government. But at the end of the day, I have always come back to photography.
I'm a natural light photographer, who loves to shoot in a candid and non intrusive way. I love to document what unfolds in front of my lens and let you be yourselves.
My photo sessions are relaxed but are also fun. Being yourself during the shoot is what matters most to me. I personally prefer candid and natural shots over very posed photos. I’m not into cheesy set ups, but I might come out with some bad dad jokes.
Sitting and posing for the entire session is not really my style. We will move around and find different spots and pretty light, as this allows everyone to get used to the camera...and me. I want your photos to reflect you as a couple, person and family.
I love holding my photo sessions in the afternoon as the light is a-ma-zing!! We don't need much in the way of locations. A rock, tree, patch of dead grass is all we need. I will help you in the decision process, as what I see as potential, might be far from your mind.
